Jarae Pierce is a historical researcher and preservationist specializing in World War II in the Pacific, with a particular focus on the Battle of Saipan, Japanese armored doctrine, and Imperial Japanese military equipment. Born and raised on Saipan, his work is informed by both academic research and direct cultural and geographical connection to the history he studies. He has contributed original research to organizations such as the Japanese Naval Landing Forces Historical Preservation Association and served as a historical advisor for the film Raid Pacific. His research on the Imperial Japanese Army’s 9th Tank Regiment and related subjects has been published in archival collections and Pacific War–focused publications. He also contributed historical research and photographic material to Iron Graves of Saipan: Firsthand Accounts from Manchuria.
